We’ve gone through the trends, now let’s talk timeless sneakers and staple pieces for your closet. I decided to talk to a few of my friends who are in the sneaker culture to find out what their all-time favorites are!
· Jordan 1 – Gym Red Lows. @Camilleanwuli
The Jordan 1 is an iconic shoe which helped launch the biggest sneaker culture in the world today. The design was created by Tinker Hatfield for the legendary Michael Jordan. Tinker has since gone on and designed a multitude of Nike’s bestselling sneakers including most silhouettes from the Air Jordan collection.

The Air Max 90 is also one of my favorite shoes just because of how timeless it is, the shoe is already over 30 years old and is still a staple for any man’s closet. It’s a shoe that’s easy to wear with so many different looks from suits, jeans to sweats.

I’m glad Yeezy made the list because he started with Nike but has made his biggest impact in the sneaker game when he formed a partnership with Adidas. Kanye West has inspired a new futuristic wave of clothing and sneaker culture, making simple designs look complex by achieving a feeling of movement to the pieces in his collection.

· Converse Chuck Taylor – Superman. @Mukai_Maromo
A shoe that aced the test of time! It was first designed as a basketball shoe in 1917, it was re-designed in 1922 when they added the Chuck Taylor stamp to the ankle and in1949 the classic black-white chuck you see everyone wearing today was released. This shoe has inspired everything from punk rock groups, rappers, skaters and even the American gang culture.
